10 COMMON MISTAKES WE MAKE IN A PUBLIC TOILET
The way we make use of the toilet or leave the toilet after use, says a lot about a person; it speaks to your home training, values, self-respect, exposure etc.
Public toilets are shared spaces, so everyone needs to be conscious of these 10 common mistakes and avoid them.
1 Leaving the Toilet lid Open- Toilet lids should be closed after use, you do not want bacteria and fumes from the toilet settling on other things in the toilet, like your toothbrush.
2 Dripping on the toilet Seat / Floor- This one just gets me in a bad mood, like dude, what should I do with this mess? Seriously people, try not to do this, but if you do, please make sure to clean it with a tissue paper or mop.
3 Making Phone Conversations in the Toilet- Trust me, that 3-5 minutes in the toilet won’t cost you that contract. The toilet is no place to have a phone discussion, it should remain in your bag or pocket.
4 Chatter Box Syndrome- Okay! I just want to be in and out, is that too much to ask? what’s with the chat box? No. not now. We’ll catch up some other time.Â
5 Not Flushing Properly- Avoid courtesy flushes, make sure all you deposited is gone, before leaving the toilet. TOTALLY GONE.
6 Reading in the Toilet- Multitasking?? What are you even doing???. Where would you place it when you must use your hands. Moreover, you might be keeping someone waiting.Â
7 Replacing Toilet Supplies- When you aren’t a looking to make trouble, why would you ignore replacing supplies? Toilet supplies like tissue papers, air fresheners etc should be replaced regularly. This motivates everyone to remain committed to keeping the toilet clean.
8 Barging in Without Knocking- I see you! James Bond!! Even if you feel like a stall is empty, still knock, it takes less than 4 seconds. Remember that once you barge in, you cannot unsee what you have seen.
9 Delaying at the Sink- Why? Just why?? You aren’t the only one who wants to make use of the sink. If you must freshen up or makeup, make use of a corner or step farther back to give other people access to the sink. Just take your Broadway career elsewhere.
10 Placing Personal Belongings on Toilet Surfaces- Even I make this mistake. But hey people! It’s not good at all. We should avoid placing things like your bag or phone on toilet surfaces. Public toilets house a lot of germs that are transferable and harmful to every individual. Let me not start painting the full picture.
